A big thank you to the RuderClub Ausseerland and its gracious convener, Heinz Ruth, for magical rowing in the club's idyllic setting on a picture perfect alpine lake ringed by lush green forest and soaring mountains. As well, a special salute to the keen scullers with whom I had the pleasure of rowing in the course of three outings, our "international crew" of German born club member and brother - in - law, Wolfgang Glum; American born Berlin resident and former competitive university and club rower, Melissa Eddy; and, of course, Austrian rowing veteran, Heinz Ruth.
